Masashi Hirose is part of Investcorp Japan LLC, of which Mercury Capital Advisors, LLC is an affiliate. Mr. Hirose has more than thirty years of experience in the securities industry. Prior to joining Mercury, Mr. Hirose was Sales Director at Teneo Partners. Prior to joining Teneo Partners, Mr. Hirose was engaged at Pinebridge Investments (formerly AIG) as a Managing Director responsible for the marketing of various funds where his focus was primarily on private equity and hedge funds. During his tenure at AIG Japan, the predecessor company to Pinebridge Investments, he successfully marketed funds to pension funds and financial institutions, growing assets from virtually nil to $1.3 billion. Before AIG, Mr. Hirose was a Director at HVB Capital and managed both the equity team and the illiquid fixed income team. From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Hirose set up and managed his own CTA fund. Prior to this, he was a Director at Barclays Capital in their capital markets division, and worked for BZW Barclays Securities, both in Japan. In the early years of his career in the financial industry he worked for BNP Paribas Capital in Tokyo, and for the former investment bank, Morgan Grenfell in London. Mr. Hirose founded an English language school in the 1990s as well as an internet-based employment search agency in 2013, eventually selling both enterprises to his partners. Mr. Hirose holds a B.A. in Economics and Politics from Waseda University, Tokyo.
