Justin Garrod is a member of the Mercury Capital Advisors Distribution team. He originates and distributes primary, secondary and direct private equity transactions. Mr. Garrod has over twenty years of experience working with alternative investment funds having sourced capital for private equity funds from public pension funds, large institutions, fund of funds and family offices. Prior to joining Mercury, Mr. Garrod was a Managing Partner of Stonington Capital Advisors for over 10 years, an independent private equity placement and advisory firm that Mr. Garrod co-founded in 2012. At Stonington, Mr. Garrod raised capital from institutional investors for funds and direct investments as well as secondary transactions. Prior to co-founding Stonington, Mr. Garrod was the Head of Investor Relations and Business Development at Fundamental Advisors, a private equity firm headquartered in New York. Prior to joining Fundamental, Mr. Garrod was a Vice President in Lehman Brothers’ private equity fund placement group where he advised clients on fundraising strategies and managed relationships with limited partners. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Garrod was a Vice President at Deutsche Bank, where he assisted with product structuring of Deutsche Bank’s proprietary alternative investment funds. Mr. Garrod earned a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review and earned a B.S. from Boston University. Mr. Garrod also holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 79 licenses through Mercury Capital Advisors, LLC which is a member of FINRA and a securities broker dealer in the United States.
